Once installed, to allow you to report feedback even faster, you can click the extension icon (in Chrome) and Pin it to your browser.

Userback will always be displayed without you needing to find it each time you need to report feedback.

Once you're setup and logged in with your Userback Username and Password, or Extension Key, all you need to do to report feedback is go to the page you would like to report feedback on and click the Userback extension in your browser.

Clicking the Userback extension will present you with all of the options you need for reporting feedback.

Screenshots

Selected Area: Drag a box to select an area of the page you would like to provide feedback on.

Current Tab: Take a screenshot of the page you are currently looking at (This will not take a screenshot of the entire page, only what you can see in your browser tab)

Entire Page: Take a full page screenshot of the webpage you are on, regardless of how long it is, you can provide feedback on a full page.

Reporting feedback with the browser extension is a 2 step process.

  1. Select the screenshot type

  2. Comment and Annotate on the screenshot before submitting

Once you have selected the type of screenshot to submit, you will be taken to the comment mode to annotate the screenshot.

Within the viewer, you can comment and annotate with tools such as Box, Line, Comment pin and block out.

Once you have completed annotating, simply select the project and complete the feedback form.

If you have clients set up using the browser extension, they will only have access to the projects you have given them access to followed by Category and Leave a Comment. The Priority and Assignee fields will be hidden from them.

Here are the other screenshot types within the comment mode:

Selection

Note: Using the selection option will allow you to save time by selecting an area and leaving a comment without the need to annotate and pin comments.

Full Page

Note: Sometimes, if your full page screenshot does not work, such as images not loading, we would recommend scrolling to the bottom of the page first, allow all of the images and elements to load first. The reason this might happen is because the webpage you are on has elements and images that load after you scroll (lazy loading)

Now scroll to the top of the page and re-take the screenshot using the full page option, the result should be much better.

Video Recording

There are two options when recording video using the browser extension.

Full Desktop: Recording your full desktop means that you can choose to record across multiple browser, multiple tabs and even desktop applications.

Current Tab: Record the current tab you are on, will continue to record the tab you started the recording on even if you move to other tabs or browsers.

Recording the current tab will allow you to navigate a site or application without having to stop and restart the recording. Refreshing the page will not stop the recording.

As per video feedback via the widget, you can also use the pen annotation tool while recording.

Once a recording has been completed, you will be able review the recording and add notes/bookmarks before submitting your feedback to your selected project.

Bookmarks can be made by simply clicking below the timeline. They will be available for viewing within the feedback viewer in your Userback account.
