Connect Userback with ClickUp (2-Way Sync)

How to connect a Userback site to ClickUp so feedback becomes ClickUp tasks, with comments and status changes synced both ways.

Written by Jon

When you connect ClickUp, feedback from your site becomes a task in the ClickUp list you choose, with its annotated screenshot or recording and technical details attached. With 2-way Smart Sync, comments and status changes on either side update the other, usually within seconds.

Before you start

  • You need a ClickUp account with access to the Workspace, Space and List you want tasks created in.

  • Set the list up in ClickUp first. Userback can only choose from lists that already exist.

Connect ClickUp

  1. Go to Feedback > Settings > Integrations.

  2. On the ClickUp card, click Connect.

  3. Sign in to ClickUp and approve access.

  4. Choose your ClickUp Workspace, Space and List.

  5. Choose when feedback is sent: Manually, Automatically, or Automatically and Resolve in Userback. For the automatic options, pick which feedback types to include.

  6. Choose which statuses and comments to sync between Userback and ClickUp.

  7. Click Test. A test task appears in the list you chose. Check it, then delete it.

Send feedback to ClickUp manually

If you chose Manually, open a feedback item (or its notification in your Inbox), click Send to ClickUp, confirm the destination, and click Send.

What syncs between Userback and ClickUp

Once a feedback item has been sent to ClickUp:

  • Comments added on either side appear on the other.

  • Status changes on either side update the other, for the statuses you chose to sync. Changes made in ClickUp show in Userback almost straight away.

Troubleshooting

Tasks stopped appearing in ClickUp

  1. Go to Workspace Settings > Connected Apps and check whether the ClickUp connection has expired. Reconnect it if so.

  2. Go to Workspace Settings > Integration Log, filter by ClickUp, and open any failed request to see the error ClickUp returned.

  3. Check the list still exists in ClickUp and hasn't been moved or archived. If it has, choose a new list in the integration settings.

What are the "test" tasks in ClickUp?

They're created when someone clicks Test during setup, to confirm Userback can create tasks in that list. You can delete them.

A status change didn't sync

Status sync only applies to feedback that's already been sent to ClickUp, and only for the statuses you selected in the sync settings. Check both, then check the Integration Log.
