Target Who Sees Your Feedback Widget

How to control which visitors see your feedback widget, using segments, pages, device type, and a display delay.

Written by Jon

By default, the widget shows to every visitor on every page. Use the Target tab to narrow that down, for example to logged-in users only, a specific part of your site, or a delay before the launcher appears.

Segments

Go to Feedback > Settings > Widget > Target. Under Segments, choose between showing the widget to all users, or to Users in a segment, which opens a picker of your existing segments.

If you don't have the segment you need yet, click + New Segment at the bottom of the picker. This opens the same segment-creation panel used under Users & Segments, with a Name field, a Description field, and a condition builder. Building conditions in that panel is covered in full in Users and Creating Segments, since the same segment logic is also used for Survey targeting.

Pages

Choose whether the widget shows on all pages or only on specific ones, using a URL-based rule.

Device

Check any combination of Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile to control which device types the widget shows on.

Delay

Set a delay, in seconds, before the widget's launcher appears after a page loads. Use this to avoid showing feedback prompts to someone who's about to bounce, or to time it after a key action on the page.
