When you connect Linear, feedback from your site becomes an issue in the Linear team and project you choose, with its annotated screenshot or recording and technical details attached. With 2-way Smart Sync, comments and status changes on either side update the other.
Before you start
You need a Linear account with access to the team you want issues created in.
If you want issues filed under a specific project, create it in Linear first.
Connect Linear
Go to Feedback > Settings > Integrations.
On the Linear card, click Connect.
Sign in to Linear and approve access.
Choose the Linear Team and Project, and a Default assignee if you want one.
Choose when feedback is sent: Manually, Automatically, or Automatically and Resolve in Userback. For the automatic options, pick which feedback types to include.
Choose which statuses and comments to sync between Userback and Linear.
Click Test. A test issue appears in the team and project you chose. Check it, then delete it.
Send feedback to Linear manually
If you chose Manually, open a feedback item (or its notification in your Inbox), click Send to Linear, confirm the destination, and click Send.
What syncs between Userback and Linear
Once a feedback item has been sent to Linear:
Comments added on either side appear on the other.
Status changes on either side update the other, for the statuses you chose to sync.
Troubleshooting
How do I change my Linear settings?
Go to Feedback > Settings > Integrations, open Linear, and update the team, project, send mode or sync options.
How do I reconnect or remove Linear?
Go to Workspace Settings > Connected Apps. From there you can reconnect, rename or delete the Linear connection. Reconnecting fixes every site that uses it.
Issues aren't being created
Check Workspace Settings > Integration Log, filtered by Linear, for the error Linear returned. The most common causes are an expired connection (reconnect it) or a team or project that's been renamed or archived in Linear (choose it again in settings).
