π’ This article covers the Userback Slack App, which lets you send feedback from Slack directly into your Userback dashboard. If you're looking to receive Userback notifications in Slack instead, see Connect Userback with Slack.
The Userback Slack App lets you turn Slack messages into feedback items without leaving the conversation. When a customer insight or bug report surfaces in a channel, you can log it directly into Userback in a few clicks, complete with the original message, attachments, and a link back to the Slack thread.
Install the Userback Slack App from Slack Marketplace
Go to the Userback Slack App in the Slack Marketplace and click Open in Slack.
Follow the prompts to connect your Slack and Userback accounts.
Once in Slack, open the ellipsis menu next to any message, select Connect to apps, and search for Userback.
A Connect to Slack button will appear in your chat. Click it and approve the permissions to complete the connection.
Note: Each person on your team will need to install and connect the Userback Slack App themselves.
Create Feedback from Slack
Here's how to send a Slack message to Userback as a feedback item:
In any Slack channel or DM, open the ellipsis menu next to the message youβd like to send to Userback.
Go to Connect to Apps and select Create feedback in Userback.
The first time you do this, you will have to search for Userback in the More Message Shortcuts.
A Userback modal will open where you can:
Choose the project to send the feedback to
Auto-summarize the message with AI, or manually edit the description
Add additional fields like priority and assignees
Click Send to forward the message to Userback.
πNote: To create a new feedback directly in Slack without attaching any messages, use the forward slash shortcut (/Userback create) to open the feedback modal directly.
π‘ Hot Tip: Capture threaded Slack messages by using Reply in thread. If you have the AI feature package, AI will summarize the initial message and up to 10 replies for your feedback.
What it Looks Like in Userback
Once submitted, your feedback appears in your Userback project with the original Slack message, any attachments, and a direct link back to the Slack thread, so your team has full context without switching tools.
