Dark Mode and Custom Display Settings

Userback allows you to customize Display settings so your Userback experience, including the UI, Feedback Widget, Surveys, and Ideas Portal, better matches your website’s look and feel.

You can choose between the following:

  • Browser Default: Automatically follows the user’s operating system or browser theme.

  • Light: Applies a Light theme.

  • Dark: Applies a Dark theme.

Each component can be configured individually, giving you full control over how Userback appears across your product.


How to change display settings for the Userback UI

  1. Open the left-hand menu and go to Profile settings.

  2. Select your preferred Display setting.

  3. Click Save.


How to change display settings for the Feedback Widget

  1. Go to Edit Widget.

  2. Under the Appearance section, select your preferred Display setting.

  3. Preview your changes and click Save.

Optional: Feedback Viewer logos

If your plan includes Branding (Business plan and above), you can upload separate logos in the Feedback Viewer for Light and Dark mode:

  1. Go to Workspace settings from the left-hand menu.

  2. Open the Branding tab.

  3. Upload logos for Light mode and Dark mode.

📘Note: If the Ideas Portal, Roadmap, or Announcements are embedded in the Widget, they will follow the Widget’s display settings, even if the Portal itself is set differently.

💡Tip: Use the preview toggle to see how your Widget looks in Light, Dark, and Browser Default modes.


How to change display settings for Surveys

  1. Go to Edit Survey.

  2. Open the Appearance tab.

  3. Select your preferred Display setting.

  4. Preview and click Save.

How to change display settings for the Ideas Portal

  1. Go to Portal settings.

  2. Select your preferred Display setting.

  3. Click Save.

Optional: Add Light & Dark mode logos

If your plan includes Branding (Business plan and above), you can upload separate logos for Light and Dark mode:

  1. In Portal settings, open the Branding tab.

  2. Upload logos for Light mode and Dark mode.

📘Note: If no display setting is selected for the Portal, it will default to the Widget’s display setting.
