What is Userback MCP?
Userback MCP connects your Userback feedback to AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT, so you can ask questions about your feedback and act on it in a normal conversation. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to other tools.
Instead of filtering feedback in Userback, copying it, and pasting it into an AI tool, you ask your question. The assistant fetches what it needs from Userback and answers. It can also update feedback (status, assignee, comments), but it asks you to approve each change first.
Connect your AI tool
Userback MCP is available on all Userback plans. Setup takes a few minutes, and you sign in with your Userback account. There are no keys or client IDs to request.
Claude: see Connect Userback to Claude.
ChatGPT: see Connect Userback to ChatGPT.
Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and other MCP clients: see the Userback MCP setup guide in the Developer Docs.
Five things to try
1. Debug a bug report with full context
Review Userback feedback ID 12345, analyze the likely root cause from its details and logs, cross-reference it with the codebase, and propose a fix.
2. Turn a backlog into a prioritized plan
Analyze all "In Progress" feedback on the [site] site in Userback, group recurring themes, estimate impact, and propose an implementation plan.
3. Turn design feedback into a build brief
Build an implementation plan for the UX changes requested on the [site] site, with acceptance criteria for QA.
4. Check whether a release landed
Compare feedback on [site] about [feature] in the 30 days before [release date] and the 30 days after. Has volume changed? Are the same issues still coming up?
5. Get on top of an escalation
Find all feedback on [site] from [user or company], and summarize what they raised, when, the current status, and anything still unresolved.
Tips for better results
Name the site. The more specific you are about site, date range or status, the more focused the answer.
One task per prompt. Ask for a summary, or a triage, or a prioritization, not all three at once.
Review changes before approving. Nothing changes in Userback until you approve it.
Start broad, then narrow. Ask for the themes first, then dig into one.
Manage access
Userback MCP follows your existing Userback permissions: it can only see and change what your account can. To see or remove connected AI tools, go to Workspace Settings > OAuth Connections. Each connection shows its provider, owner and when it was last used. Click the delete icon to revoke one.
