Userback Insights

What is Insights?

Insights is an AI-powered analysis tool built into your Userback project. It reads your feedback, and organizes them into Themes, each with a sentiment breakdown, a count of how many users raised it, and the specific feedback items behind it.

Insights differs from Reports in one important way: Reports shows you how much feedback is arriving and how sentiment is trending over time. Insights shows you what's inside it, the subjects users keep raising, pulled from the feedback itself.

Available on Business Plans and above.

Getting Started with Insights

  1. Go to your project Overview page.

  2. Click Get Insights to run the analysis for the first time.

  3. Insights will run in the background, you don't need to stay on the page while it works.

  4. Once complete, your Themes will appear on the Overview page.

  5. Themes will refresh every 24 hours so check regularly for updates.

πŸ’‘ Note: You need at least 10 feedback items in your project before Insights can generate Themes for the first time.

How Insights Works

Automatic Theme detection

Insights analyses your most recent 500 feedback items across all feedback types, bugs, ideas, and general feedback. Then groups them into meaningful Themes based on what users are repeatedly raising. No need to configure anything. Userback identifies the patterns automatically.

Sentiment breakdown

Each Theme includes a breakdown of positive and negative sentiment, so you can quickly tell whether a topic is a source of frustration or something users feel good about. A Theme with high negative sentiment signals something that needs attention. A Theme with high positive sentiment tells you what's working.

Evidence behind every theme

Click into any Theme to see the specific feedback items that contributed to it, the total feedback count, and the number of unique users affected. The evidence is there so you're not just seeing a label, you can read the actual submissions behind every Theme and understand the full context.

Staying up to date

Insights refreshes automatically every 24 hours, so your Themes stay current without any manual effort. If you want the latest picture before the next scheduled refresh, you can trigger a manual refresh at any time from the Overview page.

Exporting themes to Jira

Any Theme can be exported directly to Jira. Each export includes the Theme overview, feedback titles, and links to the individual feedback items, so your development team has everything they need to act on it without leaving their own workflow.

Acting on What You Find

Insights is not just a read-only view. From within Insights you can manage feedback the same way you would in your feedback dashboard, change status, assign items to team members, add internal comments, and reply to reporters directly.

πŸ’‘Tip: Use Insights before sprint planning. A quick scan of your top Themes tells you what users are raising most frequently, which is stronger evidence for prioritization than any individual feedback item on its own.

Managing Your Themes

You can view all Themes or focus on your top 5. If a Theme isn't relevant to your current priorities, archive it. Archived Themes are removed from your view but can be restored at any time. Nothing is deleted permanently.
