Connect Userback to Zapier

How to connect Userback to Zapier so new feedback can start automated workflows in thousands of other apps, with a Google Sheets example.

How Userback works with Zapier

Zapier connects apps that don't have a direct integration. Each automation, called a Zap, starts with a trigger in one app (in this case, new feedback in Userback) and runs one or more actions in other apps. Use it to reach a tool Userback doesn't integrate with, or to add conditions and field mapping the native integrations don't offer.

Zapier is available on the Team plan and above.

Create an API token

Zapier connects to your Userback workspace with an API token.

  1. In Userback, go to Workspace Settings > API Token.

  2. Click + Create.

  3. Give the token a Label you'll recognise later, such as "Zapier", and click Create.

  4. Copy the token. Treat it like a password.

Connect Userback in Zapier

  1. Log in to Zapier, or create a free account.

  2. Create a new Zap.

  3. For the trigger, search for Userback and choose New Feedback. This is the only Userback trigger, so every Zap starts when new feedback arrives. To react to status changes, comments or assignments instead, use webhooks.

  4. When prompted, paste the API token you created.

  5. Add the actions you want, test the Zap, and turn it on.

Browse the Userback page on Zapier for ready-made Zaps.

Example: send new feedback to Google Sheets

This Zap adds a row to a Google Sheet every time new feedback arrives, which is useful for reporting or sharing with people outside Userback.

  1. Make a copy of the Userback Google Sheet template, or use your own sheet.

  2. In Zapier, set up the Userback New Feedback trigger as above.

  3. Add the action Create Spreadsheet Row in Google Sheets, sign in to Google, and choose your sheet.

  4. Map each Userback field to a column. If you're using the template, the column names already match.

  5. Test the Zap and turn it on.

Troubleshooting

Zapier can't connect to my Userback account

Check you pasted the full API token, and that it hasn't been deleted from Workspace Settings > API Token. If in doubt, create a new token and reconnect.

My Zap stopped running

Check the Zap's history in Zapier for the error. If the API token was deleted or the person who created it left, create a new token and update the Userback connection in Zapier.
