Rating and scale types

  • NPS: the standard 0-10 "how likely are you to recommend us" scale used to calculate a Net Promoter Score.

  • Stars: a star rating. Has its own Scale dropdown to set how many stars the respondent can choose from.

  • Hearts: a heart rating, functionally the same as Stars with a different icon. Has its own Scale dropdown.

  • Number: a plain numeric rating. Has its own Scale dropdown to set the range (for example 1-5 or 1-10).

  • Thumbs: a simple thumbs-up/thumbs-down choice, useful for a fast binary reaction.

  • Faces: an emoji-style face scale running from unhappy to happy, a lighter-touch alternative to a numeric scale.

Text types

  • Short Answer: a single-line free-text field, for a brief response like a job title or a one-line reason.

  • Long Answer: a multi-line free-text box, for detailed open-ended feedback.

Choice types

  • Yes/No: a two-button binary choice.

  • Multiple Choice: a list of options you define, shown as selectable buttons or checkboxes.

  • Dropdown: the same idea as Multiple Choice, but shown as a dropdown menu. Use this over Multiple Choice when you have a long list of options and want to save space.

Structural type

  • Intro: not a question. It's a welcome tile shown before your questions start, used to set context or explain why you're asking. It doesn't collect a response.
