Video Feedback lets users record their screen and voice when submitting feedback through the Userback widget or Browser Extension. Each recording can be automatically transcribed, summarized by AI, and broken into a timestamped transcript, giving your team the full picture from the comments panel whether they watch the video or not.
How to Enable Video Feedback in Your Widget
1. Open the Widget Tab in the Userback Project
2. Go to the Form tab
3. Scroll down to the Tools section
4. Select Screen Recording as an available tool
5. Click Save
💡 Tip: You can enable Screenshot and Screen Recording at the same time, giving users the choice of which capture method to use when submitting feedback.
How Video Feedback Works
Video feedback is straightforward for your users. When submitting feedback through the Userback widget or Browser Extension, they can choose to add screen annotations or a voiceover recording alongside their submission.
Once a recording lands in your project, you and your team can view it, listen to it, add internal comments, and create bookmarks at specific timestamps to mark moments worth revisiting. Everything is accessible directly from the feedback item.
Video Feedback with Transcription and AI
Transcript
Every video submission is automatically transcribed. The full transcript appears in the comments panel with timestamps, so you can read through exactly what the user said, and jump to any point in the recording if you need more context.
AI Summary
Instead of watching a full recording, read a short AI-generated summary that captures the overall feedback in seconds. The summary appears alongside the transcript in the comments panel and gives your team a clear picture of what the user was trying to communicate.
AI-generated title
If a user submits a video recording without providing a title, Userback automatically generates one based on the content of the recording. This keeps your feedback inbox readable without relying on users to describe their submission upfront.
Searchable via AI Context Search
Video transcripts are included in AI Context Search, so you can search across what users said in their recordings the same way you search written feedback. If a user mentioned a specific feature or issue in their recording, you can find it.
Included in Insights Themes
Video feedback is read and categorized alongside written feedback when Userback generates your Insights Themes. This means recurring topics raised in video recordings are captured in your Theme analysis, giving you a complete picture of what users are telling you, not just what they typed.
