Creating a survey with Userback is extremely easy and quick. You can have your first survey set up and running in just a few minutes! When creating your first survey, it is important to take into account specific requirements, such as the appearance, the questions you want to ask your audience, and your target audience. By considering these aspects, you can make your survey more visually appealing, engage the right users, and achieve a higher response rate.

Before you begin, creating a Userback Workspace is essential. Sign Up For Free.

1. Survey Setup

After creating your Userback Workspace, you will be guided to the Project Overview page. From there, click on 'New' and select 'Start a survey' on the next screen.

When creating a survey, you have the option to either choose a template from a variety of pre-configured options to streamline your survey process or start from scratch and customize every aspect, including adding questions.

For a quicker start, we recommend selecting a template, filling out the details form, and then fine-tuning your survey in the survey editor.

Once you've made your choice, you will be taken to the survey form editor where you can personalize your survey.

2. Edit your Survey

Customize your survey to meet your needs and preferences, whether you use a template or create it from scratch. This personalization will make feedback collection more engaging for everyone involved.

Customize the Survey: Use our Survey Editor to change its appearance, set the behavior, and target specific users.

Add Questions: Create a seamless survey experience by strategically placing questions for engagement, customizing each question set, and incorporating welcome and thank-you tiles.

Check out our article for detailed information: Create and Edit Userback Surveys.

3. Targetting your Survey

It's important when collecting feedback to gather specific information from targeted groups of people. Userback offers the ability to tailor your survey to different users based on several criteria, such as Audience, Pages, and Devices by using our Targeting and Segment features. By connecting your user database with Userback, you can create custom segments like 'trial customers' or 'internal users' to trigger surveys only when specific user segment conditions are met

To learn more about this feature check out these articles: User Database and Targeting and Segments.

4. Install and Activate your Survey

After you have made the necessary edits to your survey and saved the changes, the next step is to install the Userback Code on your website. You can choose between a global access token or a project-specific token. To access the code snippet, click on the <> button in the header. Check out this article for detailed steps: Install Userback in your application.

Then to activate the survey, go to the Overview Page and click on the blue "Activate" button. You can activate it immediately or schedule it for a later time. You can also select a date to stop the survey, giving you full control over its duration.

5. Integrations with Tools

Our Survey feature seamlessly connects with Slack, Teams, and Webhooks, enhancing team collaboration and efficiency by centralizing your results within your existing platforms.

To get started, go to the Overview Page and look for the Integrations section on the right-hand side. Click on 'Connect' and choose the tool you want to integrate. Follow the provided authorization steps for each unique integration. You can find detailed guidance on the integration process in this article: Automating your Feedback Workflow with Integrations.
